What is GTAC?
Glasgow Theatre and Arts Collective is an artist led studio in the heart of Govan. GTAC is run by artists for artists, on a cooperative model and on a completely voluntarily basis. Our members come from across the creative disciplines of dance, performance, circus, community art, music, directing and visual arts. We prioritise access to independent and freelance artists who would otherwise struggle to find a home for their work. How does it work? GTAC sustains its operation through membership fees and occasional external lets. Members are allocated a certain amount of hours that they can use within 3 months. The pot of hours is renewed every 3 months. The maximum capacity of the studio is 24 members. The members use an online calendar system to book time in the studio. In order to keep the membership affordable, the members are requested to take on cleaning responsibilities. * GTAC is dedicated to making work and priority is given to members of the cooperative, but occasionally GTAC is also hired by non-members, visiting companies and small scale events.
